Storyline

Ashaabi's Child tells the full story of Ashabi, played by Bolaji Ogunmola. She is a single mother who became pregnant at age 15. A pastor's son abused her, and she had to raise her child alone. This pain stayed with her for many years and made her very strict and fearful. The movie starts with her daughter Enitan bullying another girl at school because of a boy. The school records the fight and expels Enitan. Ashabi is very angry when the principal calls her. She shouts at her daughter and calls her a big mistake. This makes their relationship even worse. Later, they discover that Enitan is pregnant. This news opens all of Ashabi's old wounds. She remembers her own teenage pregnancy and feels like history is repeating itself. Ashabi becomes very protective and does not trust anyone around her daughter, even her own brother Dotun. She warns him not to touch Enitan and always watches closely because of what happened to her in the past. Ashabi meets a kind man named Aminu. He is gentle and tries to help them. But Ashabi's fear and trauma make it hard for her to trust him fully. The mother and daughter fight a lot. Ashabi transfers her pain and anger to Enitan, shouting at her and blaming her for many things. In the end, they begin to talk about the past. Ashabi starts to see that she must heal so she does not destroy her daughter's life. The movie shows how unhealed pain from the past can affect the next generation. It also shows the importance of listening to children and protecting them from abuse, even from family members. The story ends with lessons about forgiveness, healing, and breaking the circle of pain. It is a strong family drama that touches the heart.
