Storyline

The story follows Angela and Femi, a couple who have tried for seven years to have a child. After many failed treatments and deep sadness, they decide to use a surrogate named Gloria to carry their baby. This choice brings new stress instead of peace. Angela struggles with heavy fears and bad dreams that Gloria will keep the child for herself. At the same time, her old desperation leads her to visit a local priest for a painful ritual meant to help her body work naturally. When Femi finds out, he is shocked and angry, calling it dangerous and foolish. Their marriage quickly falls apart as they argue about trust, past mistakes, and unspoken pain. Angela feels Femi never truly understands her loneliness, while Femi feels he has done everything he can to keep them together. Things get worse when Angela admits she cannot love a baby growing inside another woman, and she even threatens to leave the marriage for good. In the movie Anjola, all these broken promises come to a head when Gloria suddenly goes into labor. The final scene shows the couple rushing to meet their newborn, forced to face reality together even though their relationship is deeply damaged. The film ends without a clear fix, leaving them to figure out how to be parents while their own love story hangs in the balance.
