And There Was You

The story in And There Was You is about Paul and his neighbor Jenny in Lagos. The movie opens with Jenny angrily returning flowers and chocolates to Paul and calling him a stalker. Then it flashes back to show how they met. Paul sees Jenny when he moves in and likes her. But their first talk is bad because Paul causes Jenny to fall off her bike. Jenny is a tomboy who wears baggy clothes and is very rude to him. Her mother wants her to dress like a lady but Jenny says no. Paul tries many times to talk to her and even asks her sister for help. He invites Jenny for lunch and they talk well at first. But Jenny gets the gifts and thinks Paul is too pushy so she shouts at him. Her sister explains that she helped Paul with the gifts. Jenny feels sorry and apologizes. They become friends but Paul makes a mistake by using a megaphone to say he loves her in front of her house. Jenny is embarrassed and angry. Then her mother explains why Jenny is like that. Her father left because he wanted a son and was sad when Jenny was born a girl. Jenny tried to be like a boy to make him stay. This talk helps Jenny. The next day she wears a beautiful dress and tells Paul she wants to try a relationship with him even with her past pain. Paul agrees and they hug at the end.
