Storyline
This Yoruba-language film (with English elements) blends folklore, action, and cultural storytelling to explore themes of ancestral legacy, community resilience, and the fight against external disruptions that challenge traditional ways. The story follows the life of Abani, a young woman caught between the expectations of her traditional family and the pursuit of her own dreams. Abani’s life takes an unexpected turn when she is forced to choose between an arranged marriage to a wealthy, but controlling suitor, and the love of her life, Sete, a passionate, idealistic man from a humble background. As the tension between duty and desire builds, Abani faces numerous obstacles — from familial pressures to societal judgment pushing her to question everything she’s ever known about love, loyalty, and self-identity.

I love the movie and the fact that it was done with our culture in mind. But the director should do more towards the end it was as if they rushed it.
