EARLY LIFE
Blessed Ilukor Idornigie started working at the age of 17, gaining experience in various companies including a software company, an airline company, and iRoko's IT department. He also had an online platform called E-Gold and was involved in multilevel marketing.
CAREER
In 2011, Blessed Idornigie founded IbakaTV in Lagos, an online movie streaming platform for Nollywood films, starting with N1 million from his sister's room and her laptop. He initially leveraged YouTube, securing a premium partnership and launching channels like IbakaTV|Nollywood, IbakaTV|Yoruba, and AfricaMagicClip. This strategy led to over one million subscribers and billions of views. IbakaTV won two YouTube awards, including 'best Nollywood channel in Africa' in 2016. Following this success, he launched IbakaTV.com, a subscription-based video-on-demand platform. IbakaTV is now considered YouTube's biggest sub-Saharan African partner and aims to become the number one online entertainment company globally. He has raised millions of dollars in investments for the platform and plans to expand into movie production.
PERSONAL LIFE
Idornigie believes in creating competitive and innovative ideas within the online movie streaming industry and providing choices to consumers. He advises young entrepreneurs to believe in themselves and be driven by passion, stating that the world is waiting for them to discover how they can better their country.
