The Love Alphabet

Olumide settles into a new home with his daughter Noella, quickly earning the ire of wealthy neighbor Shehu after a parking lot mishap. Noella befriends Lilian, a romance novelist, and her mother Edimma. Edimma, grateful for Olumide's help resolving an estate dispute, starts cooking for them, while Olumide becomes an avid reader of Lilian's books. Meanwhile, Lilian endures Shehu's belittling remarks about her career and his constant demands for money; she finally ends the relationship when he refuses to propose and insults her. Shehu reacts violently, barging into her home and accusing her of cheating with Olumide. Edimma initially opposes the budding romance, fearing Noella would complicate things—a trauma from her own past with a stepsister. When Noella suffers an allergic reaction, Edimma blames herself, but at the hospital Olumide reveals the truth: Noella is his niece, adopted after his twin sister died in a car accident. Tensions culminate in a supermarket confrontation where Shehu publicly demeans Olumide as a 'street tout' and 'babysitter'. Olumide loses control and punches Shehu, knocking him to the floor. Noella witnesses the violence but later tells her father she understands he was protecting their family. Edimma, realizing her mistake, seeks forgiveness from Olumide and Noella, reconciling with them. With Edimma's blessing, Olumide plans a secret proposal during a family dinner. Noella announces she wants to be a writer, and the family shares a joyful meal, ending on a hopeful note with Olumide and Lilian's relationship solidified and Edimma fully accepting Noella as part of the family.
