Storyline

The story in this drama titled The Cost Of Love shows the struggles of a family. The landlord demands three months rent from Mama in a wheelchair and her daughters Amara, Ugochi and Lola. Amara pleads for more time but Lola insults the landlord. Mama falls while reaching for water and her son Yemi helps her. The daughters try to raise rent money. Amara argues with Lola who has a job but refuses to help the family. Mama moves to Yemi's luxurious home with his fiancée Bolaji. Bolaji is cruel and complains about Mama, wanting to send her to hospital. Yemi defends his mother. Amara pays part of the rent and finds caregiver Ngozi with help from her boyfriend Ebuka. They pay Ngozi 85,000 Naira. Bolaji treats Ngozi badly, ordering her to clean the pool. Ngozi wants to quit but the gateman advises her to stay. Yemi gets angry when Bolaji serves Mama bad food on purpose. He warns Bolaji. Bolaji fires Ngozi and the gateman out of rage. Yemi arrives and tells Bolaji she must leave the house. Yemi apologizes to his mother and the workers. He increases Ngozi's salary to 300,000 Naira and the gateman's to 150,000 Naira. Bolaji packs her bags and leaves in disgrace while the home finds peace. This is how The Cost Of Love ends with the true cost of selfish love.
