The Checklist

Three close friends Efe a doctor, Isoken a chef and Idara create a checklist of ideal partner traits and accept an invitation to a bachelorette retreat at a luxury resort owned by the charismatic Mikael. They arrive with male friends including Richie his married but separated friend Jackson and the charming Idara Richie's friend. At the resort Efe clashes with the receptionist before bonding with Mikael over a medical diagnosis. Isoken spars with kitchen staff and reconnects with Jackson. Shay the man mirrors Efe's checklist and Richie hosts a chaotic drinking game. Isoken shares a vulnerable moment with Michael by the pool only to be pulled into the water against her protests and the women's pact to support each other begins to fracture as secret attractions and deceptions surface. The climax erupts in a cascade of confrontations. Efe discovers Idara the man has been using her checklist as a manipulation playbook leading to a furious public rejection. Simultaneously Isoken learns Jackson is still married shattering their intimacy. Another guest Dara confronts her own married lover in the lobby. The women retreat to their room where Isoken confesses she slept with Jackson prompting Idara the woman to reveal the husband's existence. Betrayed and disillusioned the friends grapple with the realization that their rigid checklists failed to account for human complexity leaving them emotionally raw and questioning their judgment. In the aftermath Eddie who is Richie approaches Efe with a raw unscripted apology admitting his imperfections insecurities and fear of rejection a stark contrast to the polished performances of the week. His honesty pierces Efe's defenses and she invites him in signaling a shift from checklist driven fantasy to authentic connection.
