Sibe Episode 5 The Salon

After an animated credit sequence introduces the cast, a woman named Sibe walks into an interview for a cleaner job with the confidence of someone who has done everything. She claims to have worked as a mechanic, a carpenter, and in a morgue, then demands a high salary and an official car; Mr. Joko offers the standard 25,000 naira, and she accepts with reluctance. Told to start the next day, Sibe reports to the salon and is warned to remain invisible, but that instruction does not hold. Pepper, a colleague, gives her playful nicknames while Sibe turns a customer's wig into a permanent problem, and a female barber's disastrous haircut leads to a loud argument. Instead of staying in her assigned role, Sibe petitions Mr. Joko to make her a hairstylist, proposing such styles as 'owurishabomi' and 'ipako elede.' She also accompanies her friend Moji to a clinic for an abortion, but the sight of frightening tools and an axe sends both women fleeing. Consequences arrive without a clean explanation: Sibe is seen pleading with Mr. Joko to settle a matter amicably, crying that her father will kill her. She runs in and out of his office while he covers his face in despair, unmoved by her tears. The episode then shifts back to the salon floor, where her colleagues assemble as the credits roll. No verdict is delivered on the offense that sent her begging, and no reconciliation takes place before the episode ends, leaving her position at the company unresolved.
