Timo and Martha, two officers relegated to the front desk at their station, become convinced their DPO has deliberately denied them promotions and roadblock assignments. In "Police Is Your Friend 1", after a robbery victim is turned away for refusing to pay a registration fee, the pair decide to abandon their post and establish an illegal checkpoint on a lonely rural road. They stop motorists for minor infractions—missing helmets, expired documents—and collect bribes, quickly building a stockpile of cash and confiscated goods, including a bag of eggs from a woman. Their absence from the station is soon noted; colleagues gossip that they might have eloped, but the DPO suspects desertion and orders a GPS trace on their patrol vehicle. Meanwhile, Timo and Martha continue their operation, stopping an ice cream vendor and a tricycle. From the tricycle, they seize a bag of white powder, which they believe to be illicit drugs. They discuss selling it but ultimately decide to report the find. Before they can act on that decision, armed men ambush them at the roadblock, binding and dragging them away, then contacting a relative and the DPO to demand a ransom. The DPO quickly mobilizes a tactical team, tracking the kidnappers to a house where they storm the location, freeing Timo and Martha and arresting the captors. Back at the station, the DPO confronts the two officers about the unauthorized roadblock. Despite their explanations, he suspends them indefinitely. As they leave his office, colleagues offer sympathy and advice about second chances. Timo and Martha are left to reflect on the consequences of their actions, their careers in jeopardy.
