Emem arrives late for an interview at Emerald fashion house but impresses Margaret, the head, in the elevator by quickly styling her scarf, earning a job as senior stylist and nearby accommodation. She moves in with her friend Chioma, who runs a small chops business. At Emerald, Emem is assigned to style a major pitch for Tiger Magazine's summer issue. She develops a romantic relationship with her neighbor Ikenna, later discovering he is the editor-in-chief of Tiger. When Emem reveals this to Margaret, concern over conflicts of interest leads Margaret to remove Emem from the pitch to protect the brand's reputation. Meanwhile, Chioma faces a similar ethical dilemma when a client demands sex for a business deal; she refuses and loses the contract. Heartbroken and conflicted, Emem struggles between her relationship with Ikenna and loyalty to Margaret. Ikenna proposes that Margaret fire Emem so Tiger can hire her as a freelance stylist for the summer issue, safeguarding Margaret's brand. Margaret hesitates but agrees, firing Emem and explaining it is to let her shine. Devastated initially, Emem later understands the plan and accepts the freelance offer, styling the Tiger cover. Her relationship with Ikenna strengthens as he promises honesty and support. Chioma gets a break when Emem introduces her small chops to Ikenna's mother, who offers a catering contract. The film ends with Emem and Ikenna having dinner with his mother, who welcomes Emem into the family.
