Biography

EARLY LIFE

Stephanie Tum was born on 2 December 1987 in Bamenda, Cameroon. She attended Progressive Comprehensive High School, where she studied Arts and obtained her Advanced Levels. She later pursued higher education at the University of Buea, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Management. She began her acting career in 2009 shortly after completing her university studies.

CAREER

Stephanie Tum started acting in 2009. After an initial break to focus on family and her oilfield job, she returned in 2013 with the film Viri. She is known for roles in Cameroonian cinema, including, Pink Poison (2011), Viri (2013), Shrill, Little Cindy (2017), Saving Mbango (2019), The Giant Broom, The Planters Plantation (2022). She is the Founder and CEO of EMBI LTD. In addition to acting and producing, she has been recognized as one of the most influential young Cameroonians in entertainment by Avance Media & COSDEF Group in 2018. She has received nominations, including for Best Social Media Campaign for Mental Health Awareness at the Bonteh Digital Awards.

PERSONAL LIFE

Stephanie Tum is a mother of two boys: Mutta Nissi and Chris Bants. She balances family responsibilities with her career and philanthropic work. In 2018, she founded the Embi Charity Foundation, which runs campaigns such as GirlsAndHygiene and BreakTheStigma. She previously worked in the oilfield sector before transitioning to full-time work in film and family life. She is based in Douala, Cameroon, and maintains an active presence on social media.
