EARLY LIFE
Godisz Fungwa was born on November 13, 1995, in Bamenda, in Cameroon’s Northwest Region. He is the eldest of seven children. His father worked as a tailor, and his mother is a nurse. He completed his secondary education at Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Bamenda, where he obtained his Baccalauréat in 2014. During secondary school, he developed a strong passion for acting and co-founded a drama group called Noble Theatre Arts of Entertainment. He initially aimed to become a teacher but joined the University of Buea to study English Language after not gaining admission to ENS Bamenda.
CAREER
Godisz Fungwa began acting during his secondary school years through his involvement in school theatre and the Noble Theatre Arts group. His professional journey continued at university, where he earned a diploma in Performing and Visual Arts alongside his English degree. He is recognized as a talented comedian and actor in Cameroonian cinema. In 2020, he won Best Actor awards at two festivals — one in Cameroon and one in Nigeria. His acting credits include, The Adventure of Thomas (2024), When the Levees Broke (2023), A Man for the Weekend (2017). He is also active as a content creator, producing comedy videos and skits that have gained popularity on social media. He has been described as one of the rising talents in the Cameroon film industry, blending comedy with dramatic roles and occasionally collaborating on projects with Nigerian influences.
