Love Selection

In "Love Selection," Chimamanda's world revolves around her mother, Mama, bound to a wheelchair by a leg ailment, and her boyfriend Eric, who swears to return before December with her bride price. Their farewell trembles with hope. Across town, Calistus watches his life collapse—his business gone, car repossessed, eviction looming. Friend Donald offers a room and a plan: bring Mama and Chimamanda to the city for treatment. Chimamanda steps into Donald's mansion, eyes wide, and there meets Calistus, a stranger nursing his wounds. Desperate to shake an aggressive admirer named Vivian, Calistus pulls Chimamanda into a selfie, claims her as his girlfriend, and sends the photo. The lie spreads like wildfire; Eric sees the image and believes Chimamanda's betrayal. He severs their relationship and pays bride price for Eruka. Crushed, Chimamanda watches Eric walk away, and Mama's fury erupts at him. Guilt chokes Calistus, but Chimamanda will not speak to him. Then fortune shifts: an international contract salvages Calistus's finances. He confronts Stacy, whose mockery during his crisis had stung, and ends their relationship. Turning to Chimamanda, he offers an education in America, a relocation he has already secured, and lays his heart at her feet. Chimamanda's scars ache, but his sincerity cuts through. She accepts, racing to Mama, who prays with tears of joy. Calistus pulls her close, their future unwritten but bright.
