Echoes Of Desire

In Echoes Of Desire, Tara's husband Kunle is often away on business trips and falls asleep when he returns. The next morning he leaves again, although Tara asks for her husband rather than gifts. Her friend Bimpe brings her to a party on their fourth wedding anniversary, while Kunle is in another city, and there Tara sees Jake naked. Drunk and overwhelmed, she sleeps with him despite saying she is married. Kunle comes home early with a Lagos promotion and family plans, and Tara confesses her mistake to Bimpe. Jake sends gifts and follows her, telling Kunle he is lucky. Jake claims a connection and reveals that cameras recorded their night, and he threatens to upload the video. He forces his way into her home to repeat the warning. Tara visits his house, where he drugs her and shows her a room covered in photos of her, a room he calls their sanctuary. Bimpe rescues her with pepper spray. Jake drugs the security guard Kevwe, breaks into the residence, and ransacks it. The police say Jake has delusional disorder, stopped treatment, and believes Tara loves him, and because he has vanished they ask her to act as bait. They also report that someone tampered with Kunle's brakes, and Kunle is injured but alive. At the trap, Jake grabs Tara, and she pretends love and proposes running away. When he lets his guard down, she yells for the police, and officers arrest him as he cries that Tara belongs to him. Tara, bruised and broken, tells Kunle she made one stupid mistake and that guilt has been destroying her. Kunle walks away at first. He returns to say she broke their foundation but that he loves her and cannot do life without her. He asks for a fresh start on one condition, that she never drinks alcohol unless he is around. Tara promises with her life, and the two embrace.
