Biography

EARLY LIFE

Oluwadamilola Adegbite was born on 18 May 1985 in Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria. She is of Yoruba origin and grew up in a modest middle-class family in Surulere. She comes from a family of four. She attended Queen’s College in Yaba, Lagos, where she served as vice president of the theatrical/drama society (around 2001–2002) and participated in church drama activities. She later studied Business Administration at Bowen University in Iwo, Osun State.

CAREER

Adegbite began her entertainment career around 2006–2008 with modeling, television commercials, and presenting. Her major breakthrough came with the role of Telema Duke (also referred to as Thelema Duke) in the long-running M-Net soap opera Tinsel (2008–2012, with later returns noted in some sources). The role earned her the Best Actress in a TV Series award at the 2011 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. She transitioned into films with roles such as Kemi Williams in Flower Girl (2013). Subsequent credits include: 6 Hours to Christmas Isoken (2017) Banana Island Ghost (2017) The Missing (2017) Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons (2018) From Lagos with Love (2018) Coming From Insanity (2019) Heaven’s Hell (2019) Merry Men 2: Another Mission (2019) Crossroads (2020) Before 30 (TV series, 2015–) After 30 (2025) Radio Voice / Oversabi Aunty and other recent projects (2025) She has also appeared in stage productions such as The Vagina Monologues. Beyond acting, she has hosted television programs and built a parallel career in wellness coaching, writing (Reset), and digital content focused on mindset, fitness, skin care, and personal growth.

PERSONAL LIFE

Adegbite met Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh on the set of the soap opera Tinsel. They became engaged in August 2014 and welcomed their son, Brian (full name often given as Brian Nii Ayittey Olaferomi Attoh), in September 2014. The couple married in a private ceremony in Accra, Ghana, on 14 February 2015. Their marriage ended in 2017. Adegbite has spoken openly about the experience, stating that love alone is not enough to sustain a relationship and that a failed marriage is not necessarily a tragedy. She has explained her decision not to remarry by emphasizing the responsibility of choosing a partner who would also be a suitable second parent for her son, prioritizing character, values, and the child’s well-being over personal emotional fulfillment alone. She continues to co-parent and has described motherhood as a central and proud part of her life. She is active in fitness and wellness, has authored a book titled Reset (a mind-body approach to personal transformation), and works as a certified health, wellness, and life coach. She has also been involved in philanthropy.

Adegbite is known for balancing screen work with advocacy around emotional intelligence, self-improvement, single parenting, and holistic wellness. She has publicly discussed social media perfectionism, body image, and the importance of authenticity. Rumors that she is the twin of actress Kehinde Bankole have circulated due to physical resemblance but remain unconfirmed and are generally regarded as speculation. She continues to act selectively while expanding her work as an author and coach under the “Reset” brand, emphasizing mind-body balance, faith, and intentional living.
