Al Wat Ek Weet

Gabriel is sent to live with his aunt Lotta and grandmother Lenie in a cramped, bustling home in the historic Springfield Terrace neighborhood of Woodstock, Cape Town. Determined not to emotionally collapse like his father, Gabriel buries his heavy grief behind a cool facade, wild lies, and a hyperactive imagination—frequently fantasizing that a Kaapse Klopse brass band is chasing him through the streets. In therapy, he meets Sasha and falls deeply in love. To impress her and stay close, he is persuaded to enter a national slam poetry competition. As the competition draws near, his carefully constructed emotional walls crumble, forcing the boy who runs away from everything to finally stand still and confront his grief.
