EARLY LIFE

Mercy Ibiang Isoyip was born on 11 July 1990 in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, to a conservative Christian family. Her father was a former disc jockey, and her mother is a reverend. She has one sister, Blessing Isoyip. She grew up in a peaceful and prayerful household in Calabar and has spoken of enjoying a playful childhood. She attended Command Children School in Calabar for her elementary education and Zenith High School (also in Calabar) for secondary school. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Calabar. She then moved to the United States to study at the New York Film Academy, where she obtained a certificate in Acting for Film (graduating around 2016). She began singing and acting at a young age in church and school, and her poetic talent later inspired her rap and songwriting.

CAREER

Mercy Isoyip is a multifaceted entertainer known for her versatility across acting, music (particularly rap), modeling, and other creative fields. She began performing in church and school before entering professional entertainment. She made her mark in acting around 2016 with a prominent early role in the film Paige, which was shot in her hometown of Calabar. She has released mixtapes and singles and has organized live performances (such as a Valentine’s event titled “Val Gone Wild”). She is also active as a fashion model and has applied her skills in interior design, cooking, and accounting.
