Under Her Nose

Loretta, a married professional, celebrates her birthday at home while her husband, Edward, is away on business. Sharon, her best friend and coworker, brings Dennis, an office colleague who has long pursued Loretta, to the house for a party. Loretta dislikes Dennis and drinks heavily. The next morning she wakes naked, finds a used condom, and realizes she slept with Dennis. Frantic, she accuses Sharon, who says she left early for an emergency about her mother and urges Loretta to hide the night from Edward, because men never forgive adultery. Terrified of losing her marriage, Loretta agrees. Days later, Dennis blackmails Loretta with party photos, demanding another sexual encounter to delete them. Loretta confides in Sharon, who advises her to make Edward cheat. Loretta asks Sharon to seduce Edward. Edward rejects her, so Sharon shows Edward the photos and says Loretta is having an affair. Hurt and wanting revenge, Edward begins an affair with Sharon. Loretta sees lipstick marks, calls, and absences, tracks Edward to a hotel, and finds him in bed with Sharon. In the confrontation, she exposes Sharon's plot: Sharon planned the night with Dennis, made Loretta drunk, photographed it, and schemed to take Edward for herself. Edward sees the deception, and Sharon cannot deny it. Later, Dennis contacts Loretta to confess his part and apologize, explaining that Sharon exploited his feelings for her. He reports the scheme to Human Resources, and the company dismisses Dennis and Sharon. Loretta resigns. Edward, aware of the truth, asks his estranged wife for forgiveness, decorates their home with red balloons and rose petals, kneels, and gives Loretta a new engagement ring. Loretta admits her mistakes, accepts his proposal, and the couple reconciles.
