Storyline
The movie Symptoms Of Love begins with Gabriel, a young man passionate about music and fashion, returning home. He honks at the gate, but the gateman Okoli is slow, so Gabriel opens it himself. His father, Chief Uzor, arrives and gets furious, scolding Gabriel for doing the gateman's job and threatening to fire Okoli. Chief makes Gabriel reverse and enter properly. Mrs. Uzor tries to calm things, but Chief is loud. Then, we meet Dr. Sarah at Grabbo Fertility Clinic. The Medical Director scolds her for speaking during surgery and boasts about her foreign degrees versus Sarah's local one. She warns Sarah to behave. Back home, Gabriel writes music. Chief bursts in, angry he's not ready for work, takes his guitar, calls music rubbish, and insists on business. Gabriel refuses. Chief freezes his accounts. At the supermarket, Gabriel's cards decline, embarrassing him. He leaves empty-handed. He tries to walk out of the estate, but Okoli blocks him per Chief's orders. Gabriel forces his way. Soon, Chief learns of Gabriel's accident and they rush to hospital. Chief collapses clutching his chest. Gabriel is bandaged, treated by Sarah. He refuses others, only wants her, infatuated. Chief wakes, fears a secret tumor. Dr. Amos flirts with Sarah poorly; Gabriel jealous. Sarah realizes Gabriel exaggerates injuries to avoid dad. She scares him into taking meds with fake amputation threat. Tests show Chief has pericarditis from stress, not tumor, treatable. Relieved, Chief thanks Sarah. In garden, Gabriel confides feeling unheard. Sarah advises calm talk, rejects romance due to age gap, offers sisterly friendship. Family reconciles: Gabriel apologizes, agrees to company with music allowed. Chief, softened, accepts. Ends with Gabriel at office, friendly calls with Sarah, parents happy. The film shows how a health scare can change people and bring family closer. It has funny moments, drama, and a happy ending. The title plays on medical symptoms and signs of love.
