Storyline

The Tanzanian Bongo movie My Son tells a story that has many twists and turns. Nine years ago a woman left her life as a criminal. She took a new identity and lived a quiet life with her husband and son. Everything was peaceful until one day her husband is murdered. At the same time her son gets kidnapped. This bad event forces the woman to go back to the violent underworld she escaped from many years before. She must use all her old skills and contacts from her past to save her son. The film shows lots of action as she fights her way through dangerous people and places. There is also a lot of drama about her feelings as she remembers her old life and worries for her child. You see the mother struggle with her choices. She wants to stay good but she has to do bad things to get her son back. The story helps the reader understand the power of a mother's love and how far she will go. My Son is the second feature film made by Jitu La Msituni Films. Ramar King directed it and Isarito Mwakalindile produced it. They also wrote the screenplay together. The movie has very good acting that makes the action and emotions feel real and close to life.
