My Crazy Wife

My Crazy Wife follows Vera and Cletus, ordinary people whose lives change after a chance meeting at the market. Vera wants goat meat, but Cletus is rude, refuses her low price, and tells her to go away. She buys from a nicer seller named Jerry. Cletus later feels bad, apologizes, gives her a good deal, and asks for her number. When a guy harasses Vera on the street, Cletus steps in to protect her. This makes them start dating and fall in love. They move in together, and Vera soon tells Cletus she is pregnant. He promises to take full responsibility and care for both her and the child. As months pass, Vera's pregnancy hormones make her very difficult. She gets angry over tiny things. She rejects a goat's head because the tongue sticks out and calls it ugly. She complains about pineapple "eyes." One night at 1:30 AM, she wakes Cletus to cook beans, then changes her mind and wants kaolin clay plus cold palm wine. She also starts a big public fight with a shop owner over a secret 15,000 Naira grocery debt. The biggest problem comes when Vera checks Cletus's phone while he sleeps. She finds a message: "I forgive you, and I love you." She thinks he has another woman and accuses him of cheating. She demands divorce. Cletus explains it is from his mother — he had been out of touch with her for a long time and used Vera's phone to send the first message because his own was not working. Vera refuses to believe him and keeps arguing. Cletus gets very tired and talks to Jerry about how hard it is. When he brings the beans she wanted earlier, she says no again. Finally, Cletus breaks down crying. He tells Vera he is trying his best even if he is not rich, that he truly loves her, and would never cheat. His tears and honest words touch her heart. Vera feels sorry, apologizes for all her crazy behavior, and they hug tightly. They make peace and stay together. The movie shows how pregnancy can make things hard, but true love and patience can fix even the biggest fights.
