Love, Later

In Love, Later Ella confronts her father Dr. Tuvi and declares she will marry Moody despite their shared AS genotype. Tuvi refuses his blessing because he lost a son to sickle cell disease and fears the same risk for another generation. Ella leaves with Moody and two years later they live happily with their infant daughter Jada in the home of Telly, Moody's adoptive mother. Tuvi remains estranged until a fatal accident kills Ella and Moody, prompting him to claim legal custody of Jada over Telly's objections. A fierce confrontation erupts between Tuvi and Telly as he wields biology and law. She counters with decades of sacrifice and the motherhood she gave Moody and Jada, revealing his fear of losing another child to sickle cell. Then Tuvi visits Telly privately and apologizes for his cruelty, inviting her to move into his large home so he can be near Jada. They begin co‑parenting the toddler and shared meals with late‑night conversations create a quiet intimacy. At Jada's birthday photoshoot Telly reveals she delivered the baby and Tuvi, now calling himself Ovie, confesses he has fallen for her. He asks her to stay permanently not only for Jada but for a life together. Telly, who planned to return to Port Harcourt, is deeply moved yet insists she must live for herself after a lifetime of caring for others. Finally Telly packs her bags and tells Tuvi maybe in another lifetime as she prepares to leave. He replies what happens to this one and she departs in a taxi as he remains with Jada. Alone with Jada Tuvi calls Mona and admits he deeply misses Telly. Mona challenges him to go after her and he decides to pursue the family he never knew he needed. Tuvi watches Jada sleep in Telly's room realizing the child bonded with Telly from birth — 'She was born in my arms' — and he resolves to fight for the family he never knew he needed embracing a second chance at love and fatherhood.
