Biography
EARLY LIFE
Actress, filmmaker, and boarding school survivor, Ànú Bámidélé has spent most of her life moving between the United States and West Africa. Her dual cultural background—raised between Nigeria and the U.S., with boarding school years in Abuja—allows her to act as a bridge between generations.
CAREER
As an actress, she trained at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and had a co-star role opposite Jeffrey Wright in the Oscar-winning film American Fiction. She began her career at Marvel Studios, working on projects such as Thunderbolts, Captain America: Brave New World, and Fantastic Four. She currently works as an assistant to director Matt Shakman, shadowing him while also attending the prestigious UCLA Professional Program in TV Writing. Her first short film, TOXIC, was selected as a finalist for the Essence Film Festival and won Best Romantic Comedy at the Atlanta Women's Comedy Festival. Anu has been chosen as a mentee for industry programs, including Group Effort Initiative, founded by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and Unlock Her Potential, founded by Sophia Chang. Her latest work is "Nolly Babes," a short film she wrote and directed, which blends nostalgia with social commentary, drawing from Nollywood's aesthetics and storytelling traditions. She completed her NYSC at Film One.
