Storyline
In Lagos, Ikenna and Mona prepare for their wedding while their mothers, Beatrice and Ifeyinwa, reignite a secondary-school feud over a stolen job offer and a blocked admission. At the bride-price negotiation Beatrice accuses Ifeyinwa of extortion. Ifeyinwa calls Beatrice manipulative. Their husbands Gabriel and Nnamdi try to keep peace, but every planning meeting collapses over venue capacity and color schemes. Beatrice storms Ifeyinwa's home unannounced and brands her family 'poverty-stricken church rats', pushing the wedding toward collapse. Ifeyinwa retaliates by refusing the proposed wedding dates and guest limits, and Ikenna threatens to move out of his parents' house. Mona briefly breaks up with him, exhausted by the interference. In 'It's Our Wedding', Mona's friend Beatrice locks Ikenna and Mona in a room and demands they settle their parents' issues within an hour or face a wedding without their families. The mothers then confront each other privately, laying bare decades of grievances including the stolen job offer, the blocked high-school admission, and the exclusion from a prestigious women's association. They acknowledge mutual jealousy and hurt and apologize. Gabriel meets Nnamdi man-to-man, apologizes for his wife's behavior, and offers to double the bride-price list. Nnamdi declines and seals a truce. With the parents reconciled, planning resumes collaboratively and both families fund a larger venue. On the wedding day the traditional Igbo ceremony proceeds joyously as Mona performs the wine-carrying ritual to identify Ikenna. Elders offer prayers and blessings for prosperity and children. The couple exchanges vows amid cheers. Beatrice and Ifeyinwa, now reconciled, dance and toast together, celebrating their children's union.
