Brown Sugar

Margaret Thompson, the 60-year-old CEO of FACUB, spends her birthday at the office instead of celebrating. In Brown Sugar, a new intern named Tobi delivers chocolates and wine, though her assistant James claims no knowledge of the gift. Margaret's daughter Nadine cancels their plans, leaving Margaret disappointed. Tobi's solo pitch deck outperforms the seasoned team, and Margaret promotes him to work directly under her. The promotion sparks a secret affair that reinvigorates Margaret but leaves her worrying about public perception. Later, Nadine discovers the affair and brands Tobi a gold digger who uses a love charm to manipulate her mother. Pablo, Margaret's cousin and shareholder, sees Tobi as a threat to his influence and enlists receptionist Lola to spy on him. The chef joins Pablo in prayer sessions intended to break the alleged charm. Margaret attempts to end the relationship, but Tobi refuses to leave and challenges her self‑sabotage. Regina, Margaret's friend, urges her to choose happiness over societal judgment. Later, Nadine's friend Kelvin admits he fabricated the gold‑digger story out of jealousy after Nadine rejected him. Nadine apologizes to Margaret and gives her blessing for the relationship. Margaret's adult son visits and reminds her that she needs no one's permission for her choices. Margaret issues Pablo an ultimatum to stop his harassment or leave the house. With the opposition neutralized, Margaret and Tobi manage their unconventional relationship openly, and the household settles as Nadine accepts Tobi, Pablo backs down, and Margaret embraces the happiness she initially feared.
