In The Loom Of Love

The movie "In The Loom Of Love" opens with women performing a solemn Yoruba chant around a fire, showing how old traditions still rule life. In Lagos, Xavier is a rich documentary filmmaker. His father, Mr. Akugbe, forces him to marry Erica to merge their two big companies. Erica is excited about the wedding, but Xavier feels no love and tells his father he is not ready. His father cares only about business and family legacy. To escape, Xavier travels to the remote village of Alatare in Ogun State with his friend Bassey. Bassey hates the place with no electricity or network, but Xavier loves it. He meets Ayomide, a beautiful local tailor. She warns him about the village’s strict customs. Over the following days, Ayomide becomes his guide and teaches him the village’s mystical stories. Xavier gives her a beautiful dress and a smartphone. They grow close and dance together in the rain. Ayomide falls deeply in love despite her friend’s warning that city boys always leave. Tragedy strikes when Xavier suddenly falls unconscious with a high fever. Ayomide learns about an ancient curse: if a virgin from the village sleeps with a man, he will die in seven days unless true love breaks it. The village Oracle says only genuine love can save him. With time running out, they rush Xavier back to Lagos for medical care. Ayomide goes with him. At the family mansion, Erica insults Ayomide, calls her a smelly village girl, and has her thrown out by security. Ayomide cries outside the gate, begging to stay with Xavier. Her tears and pure love finally break the curse. Xavier wakes up, stands, and walks to the gate to embrace Ayomide. He tells his father he is cancelling the wedding with Erica. He refuses a loveless marriage for business and is ready to leave the family company. Mr. Akugbe sees the real love between them and accepts Ayomide into the family.
