Christmas With Livinus

Livinus prepares for Christmas alone in his large house, haunted by decades of neglect toward his three daughters Ada, Bunmi, and Chidera. He calls his ex-wife Ifeoma and pleads for help bridging the gap with Bunmi and Chidera. The daughters arrive separately: Ada lively and outgoing, Bunmi focused on her biochemistry studies, Chidera the youngest with pink hair and a chip on her shoulder. Their reunion turns volatile fast. Chidera refuses to greet anyone, sparking a vicious physical fight with Ada that Bunmi tries to stop. Livinus intervenes and locks them in a room together until they bond, then delivers a raw tearful confession on the rooftop. He says he once had money and influence but lost his mind to greed, abandoned them, and has regretted it every day since. He begs for forgiveness, and the daughters, moved, embrace him. The fragile peace shatters when campaign manager Felix reveals he orchestrated the entire reunion as a political stunt to humanize Livinus for an upcoming party primary against Mrs. Ubah. The daughters feel betrayed, but Livinus insists he knew nothing. Felix departs, leaving the family to process the manipulation. Meanwhile Livinus faces Mrs. Ubah in a heated public debate. She champions modernization and youth hubs. He counters with gritty pragmatism, mocking big grammar and citing his generator as a metaphor for governance. He points to his daughters as proof that youth need a microphone, not handouts. The crowd roars for Livinus. His daughters, watching from the stairs, publicly declare their support. On primary election day the atmosphere is tense. Accredited party members vote via transparent ballot box. The count is called: Mr. Livinus repeats again and again, interspersed with a few Mrs. Ubah. Livinus wins decisively. Mrs. Ubah concedes gracefully, though the rivalry remains. Christmas morning arrives. The house is alive with food, music, and laughter. Livinus sings a pidgin Christmas carol.
