In Black And White, Bisola, a young woman weary of her mother's relentless pressure to marry, meets Good Luck on a Christian dating app. Good Luck drives a taxi to fund his ministry and presents himself as a spirit-filled man waiting on God for a wife. Bisola, scarred by past heartbreaks, sees marriage as an escape from familial scrutiny. Despite stark differences in temperament they rush into marriage. The union immediately becomes a battlefield because Good Luck polices Bisola's appearance and demands she dress decently. He enforces joint morning devotions and hurls insults like Jezebel and Lucifer during arguments. Bisola rebels by secretly drinking and smoking. Good Luck's judgmental nature extends beyond their home when he berates a female passenger for her outfit. He later humiliates a date for her weight and publicly shames his wife in a shop by calling her a prostitute. A video of that public tirade goes viral and threatens his upcoming ordination. The senior pastor intervenes and suspends Good Luck's ordination for six months. He orders Good Luck to repeat pastoral classes and cites his lack of love and sharp tongue as evidence he does not reflect Christ. Bisola is kicked out of the house and returns to her mother's home devastated and fearing ridicule. An elder challenges Bisola about her impulsive entry into marriage. She acknowledges her deceit in pretending to be a church girl to secure a husband. She also admits her refusal to submit. Simultaneously Good Luck faces his own hypocrisy and realizes his self-righteousness drove them apart. Seeking reconciliation Bisola approaches the senior pastor for guidance. She confesses her faults and pleads for help to become a better wife. The pastor brings them together and insists divorce is not an option. He urges a heart-to-heart conversation. In a raw vulnerable exchange they offer sincere apologies. Good Luck admits his bluntness and verbal abuse and promises to speak with grace.
