EARLY LIFE

Moses Armstrong was born in the 1970s in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and is originally from the Ibibio tribe. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in catering and hotel management in Seoul, South Korea.

CAREER

Armstrong joined the Nigerian film industry in 1999, making his debut in the movie 'Bodyguard'. He gained prominence for his role in 'Tears in My Heart' and has starred in other movies such as 'Soldier Boy', 'Spiritual Challenge', 'Immoral Act', 'Last Contact', 'Come in Peace', and 'Kissing the Wind'. Aside from acting, Moses Armstrong was appointed as the special adviser on Agriculture to Governor Udom Emmanuel.

PERSONAL LIFE

Moses Armstrong was married to fellow Nollywood actress Rita Armstrong. She tragically passed away in 2018 from spinal injuries sustained during a severe car accident on the Benin-Ore-Lagos Expressway. In June 2022, Armstrong's career faced a major setback when he was arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. He was formally arraigned before a State High Court in Uyo on major criminal charges, including the alleged rape of a 16-year-old minor who resided with his family, alongside charges of intimidation and supplying abortion drugs. Following the severe nature of the allegations, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) immediately suspended his membership, completely distancing the association from the incident. Armstrong vehemently denied all accusations, claiming his innocence. In August 2022, Judge Ntong Ntong of the Uyo High Court granted him bail set at ₦5 million. The legal proceedings regarding the case remain active in the Akwa Ibom judiciary system.
