Biography
EARLY LIFE
Bolanle Ninalowo was born on 7 May 1980 in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is from the Yoruba ethnic group. He spent part of his teenage years in the United States, moving to Chicago at age 15. He studied Accounting at DeVry University and later earned a Master’s degree in Marketing. Before entering the movie industry, he worked as an accountant for a bank in the United States. Upon returning to Nigeria, he joined Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) as a banker.
Bolanle Ninalowo entered Nollywood around 2010 after his music label dream did not work out. His cousin, actress and producer Rukky Sanda, gave him his first movie role. He started as a producer with his debut film titled Rebirth, which he also directed. He has since become a well-known face in Nollywood, appearing in over 80 movies and TV series. Some of his notable works include, Husbands of Lagos (as Wale), Road to Yesterday, Just Married, Picture Perfect, The Intervention, 30 Years A Virgin, Coming from Insanity, Breaded Life, The Bloom Boys, Lakatabu, Someone Like You (2024), and many others. He is respected for playing charming, romantic, and sometimes complex roles.
PERSONAL LIFE
Bolanle Ninalowo married his wife Bunmi in 2007. The couple faced challenges and separated for about 12 years, but they later reconciled. They have two children — a son and a daughter. He was originally raised as a Muslim but converted to Christianity. He has openly shared that reading the Bible helped him through personal difficulties, and he often describes the Bible as his “life’s manual.” He is known for being open about his marriage struggles and faith on social media.
