Storyline
Torn Ties tells the painful story of Levi and Norien, a couple who are deeply in love and very excited about their first baby. Levi is a doctor and also a preacher. Norien is carrying their baby girl, Anna. They prepare the nursery and dream about their future together. One day, Norien goes into labor. The delivery becomes very dangerous. Norien starts bleeding heavily, and the doctors tell Levi he can only save one — either his wife or the baby. Levi chooses to save his wife Norien. The baby girl dies. Norien is very angry and sad. She blames Levi and even blames God for what happened. She feels her husband did not respect her wish to save the child. After this loss, their marriage begins to break. Levi feels deep guilt and pain. He starts finding comfort in the arms of a professional call girl. Norien, on the other hand, starts seeing a therapist and grows more distant from her husband. The once happy home becomes cold and full of arguments. Grief does not bring them closer; instead, it pushes them apart. The movie shows how different people handle loss — one turns to faith and outside comfort, while the other turns inward with anger and blame. It explores the questions many couples face: Can a marriage survive the death of a child? Can forgiveness come after such a painful choice? Torn Ties is an emotional journey that shows the reality of marriage under pressure. It reminds us that love needs work, especially in the hardest times.
