Storyline
"To Kill a Monkey" is a 2025 Nigerian crime thriller miniseries created, written, and directed by Kemi Adetiba, streaming on Netflix. It stars William Benson as Efemini "Efe" Edewor, a desperate programmer who joins the Monkey Gang led by Obozz-da-Bozz (Bucci Franklin) after being lured into cybercrime to support his family. The plot follows Efe's descent: traumatized by past abuse from boss Ms. Adunni, he turns to crime, but conflicts arise. Ms. Sparkles, a planted agent, seduces Efe and manipulates him into betraying Obozz, leading to the gang's downfall. Efe's wife Nosa, resentful of his success, divorces him and demands his offshore funds upon his arrest. His estranged daughter Ivie, molested in foster care, resents Efe and gets pregnant by Obozz. Inspector Mo Ogunlesi cracks the case, but at personal cost. Obozz is betrayed and dies; his wife Idia takes over the empire. Teacher is hanged for his atrocities, including cannibalism. Loyal Ozzy-Boy stays true till the end.
