EARLY LIFE

Kemi Adetiba was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to Dele and Mayen Adetiba. As a child, she featured in a television commercial for the detergent brand OMO.

CAREER

She is the mastermind behind her series, serving as its writer, director, and lead producer. Adetiba is renowned for her ambitious, high-stakes storytelling and cinematic visuals. Adetiba started professionally as a radio presenter with Rhythm 93.7 FM, hosting 'Soul'd Out' and 'Sunday at the Seaside'. She transitioned to television, producing and presenting shows on Mnet (Studio 53, Temptation Nigeria) and Soundcity TV, and hosted Maltina Dance All for three seasons. Her directorial works include the short film 'Across a Bloodied Ocean' (2008), which screened at the Pan African Film Festival, and her first feature film, the Nigerian rom-com 'The Wedding Party' (2016), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. She also created and presented the show 'King Women' (2017) and directed 'King of Boys' (2018) and 'King of Boys: The Return of the King' (2021). Her upcoming work includes 'To Kill a Monkey' (2025).

PERSONAL LIFE

Adetiba became engaged to Oscar Heman-Ackah in January 2022, and they were married in April of the same year.
