Throne And Thorns

"Throne And Thorns" is set in the Ugwuachina Kingdom, where King Igwe Idejimba rules but acts sick with memory loss. It's a trick to test people. The land fights neighbors over the Ikwo mine, with many deaths. Elders need a new strong leader. The king has twins: Prince Obieze and Prince Obielumani. Obieze is arrogant, listens to his mother Queen Nkonye, who favors him and hates Obielumani. Obielumani returns from abroad, tattooed, modern, and rejects the throne. Queen and Obieze ally with Princess Odibeze from Ogido. Marriage could win the mine. Odibeze agrees to wed Obieze but wants power, so she tries seducing Obielumani. He refuses, seeing her deceit. Maid Nkemdilim meets Obielumani. He is rude at first but grows to like her kindness. She overhears plots to kill Obielumani and warns him. He sees the threat to the kingdom. Obieze and Odibeze plan murder. Odibeze enters his room with a knife but hesitates. Obieze arrives, but the king stops them. In a meeting, Obieze announces marriage to Odibeze, expecting the crown. King approves wedding but crowns Obielumani, revealing fake illness exposed greed of queen, Obieze, and Odibeze. Obielumani is wise. Obieze leaves in defeat. Obielumani becomes king, proposes to Nkemdilim for her good heart. Old king rests easy, kingdom safe. Story shows goodness wins over schemes.
