Radio Sunrise
In "Radio Sunrise," directed by Uduak Using TV, Ifiok, a dedicated journalist from Calabar, Nigeria, strives to expose government corruption through his radio show "The River." Amid rising kidnappings in his village and threats to his program's sponsorship, Ifiok navigates personal relationships and professional challenges. Balancing love with Yetunde and a tempting intern, he embarks on a risky interview that could change everything, testing his integrity and resolve to fight injustice.
Storyline
"Radio Sunrise" follows Ifiok, a journalist from Calabar, Nigeria, passionate about exposing government corruption. He anchors "The River," sponsored by an oil company, but kidnappings in his village Ibok threaten its cancellation. In love with Yetunde, met at an NGO event, Ifiok succumbs to seduction by his intern Sarah, placed by his boss to test his integrity. Yetunde catches them in bed and ends the relationship, leaving Ifiok devastated and fearing exposure. Offered an interview with a kidnapper, Ifiok travels to Ibok, using the trip to meet Idara, the girl his mother wants him to marry. He falls for the beautiful, successful photographer, but heartbreak ensues when he discovers her with a sugar daddy. Completing the explosive interview, Ifiok returns to Lagos where its success restores sponsorship for his show. Though he's lost romantic love twice, Ifiok finds renewed purpose in battling corruption incrementally through his platform, one drop at a time.
