Ada, urged by her mother to endure, struggles with Chief’s domineering attitude. Despite receiving a car as a gift, Chief criticizes her clothing choices and accuses her of infidelity when she hires a young driver to teach her driving. Frustrated, Ada leaves for her mother’s house, but her mother returns her to Chief, ignoring her grievances. Feeling unheard, Ada runs away, prompting Chief and her mother to search for her. Their failure to find her forces them to reflect on her complaints.
