A Taste Of Scarlet

John Nelson, an advertising executive, and his fiancée Kate attend pre-marital counseling, where a counselor tells them to keep learning each other. At work John feels stuck and repetitive, so he hires Imade as the new creative director. Imade impresses him with a fresh perspective on an energy drink commercial, and they begin bonding over shared creative passion during meetings and lunches. After a dinner with client Mr. Richard, John kisses Imade and begins an affair. He lies to Kate about his whereabouts from then on. Kate notices his emotional distance, and at home they argue about intimacy and time spent together. John confides in Imade that he feels burned out, and she encourages him out of his comfort zone. The affair continues at the office until a colleague nearly catches them. Kate returns early from an outreach trip and catches John with Imade at a gathering. The discovery devastates her, and she confronts John. Later they attend a counseling session where John admits the affair and says Imade makes him feel alive. Kate accuses him of being seduced, but John takes full responsibility. Kate decides to end the wedding, places her engagement ring on the table, and walks away. John goes to Imade's home and apologizes. He explains that he never planned to fall in love with her but did, and that he was terrified of losing her. Imade, though hurt, says she is willing to try again if there are no lies and no secrets. They embrace and reconcile.
