Second Chances

Cynthia Agwu, a lawyer, settles a generator noise dispute between Mrs. Komolafe and Mr. Okafor. Impressed, her boss assigns her a child custody case: Lydia Edem, an executive returning from abroad, wants access to her children from ex-husband Sam Adeyemi Cole, who told Jason and Sharon their mother is dead. Lydia wants aggressive legal action, so Cynthia drafts a demand letter despite reservations, and the case consumes her. Jadesola, whose boyfriend Kola proposed three years earlier and then rejected her when she confessed she had a son, runs a salon and raises Tunde alone. She meets a man named James who needs a lawyer and recommends Cynthia. The man, whose real name is Benson, blackmails Cynthia with old videos, and she pays him once before he demands more. Cynthia wrongly blames Jadesola, and the accusation strains their friendship. Cynthia confesses her past to her fiancé Henry, who leaves in shock but later returns to say he loves her. Jadesola asks Kola, now a policeman, for help. The police stage a sting at a boutique, and Benson is arrested for extortion after demanding double the money. Cynthia resolves the custody case humanely by convincing Mr. Adeyemi to let Lydia see the children under strict conditions: Lydia must forfeit 60% of her assets into a trust, not disappear for more than six months, and record a video explaining her past absence. Lydia signs, and Cynthia finalizes the agreement without firm approval, which provokes a heated confrontation. Lydia reunites with her children, and she embraces Jason as Sharon watches. Henry and Cynthia reconcile, Jadesola and Kola rekindle their romance, and Kola proposes to Jadesola. She accepts, Tunde bonds with Kola, and the group gathers at a bar to toast happiness, wealth, and second chances.
