Someone To Love

In Someone To Love, Esohe is a sex worker. She wakes at a client's house after a night together and demands her agreed fee of 150,000 naira. The man tries to shortchange her, and she pulls a knife to force full payment. His car later breaks down outside a gated property, and an altercation with a security guard draws Dave, a wealthy, charming man. Dave pays for Esohe's transport home, and she is completely smitten. She tracks Dave down to his neighborhood to thank him, and he invites her inside. They begin seeing each other regularly, cooking, watching movies, and talking. Knowing Dave wants a decent Christian girl, Esohe hides her profession and pretends to be a devout churchgoer. She wins over Dave's mother, Mrs. Briggs, and rededicates her life to Christ. Dave's close family friend Abby grows suspicious and quietly investigates Esohe's background. At Dave's birthday lunch, Abby reveals a video of Esohe's past life as a prostitute in front of all the guests. Humiliated, Esohe flees the gathering. She begs Mrs. Briggs for forgiveness, explaining that poverty and the loss of her mother led her into sex work. She tearfully confesses the truth to Dave. He feels betrayed and asks her to leave. After spending time apart, Dave realizes he still loves Esohe and wants to be with her. With his mother's blessing, he goes to her and tells her he loves her. He proposes. Esohe accepts, promising she will never return to her former life, and the couple embrace as the film ends.
