Love And You

In Love And You, the film opens on a chaotic street where Tola, rebellious daughter of a wealthy businessman, causes a scene after a minor collision until her father's aide Adebayo intervenes. This outburst shows her pattern of reckless, alcohol-fueled behavior to humiliate her father, whom she resents for his absence during her childhood and his role in her mother's decline and death. Meanwhile Chike, a disciplined executive, is mentored by Tola's father and accepts a partnership offer. Chike returns home to find his pregnant wife Amara gone with only a note, and he spirals into grief and alcohol even as his career flourishes. Tola's antics grow worse as she crashes her car, lands in a police station, and publicly shames her father, who responds with furious lectures about family honor. Tola and Chike share a raw late-night conversation outside the estate where Tola reveals her lifelong pain — her father's serial infidelities, her mother's early death, and her own banishment abroad — admitting every scandal feels like justice. Chike counters with his own wound: his wife vanished years ago leaving him uncertain if she is alive or dead. He urges Tola to release her hatred before it consumes her, and the advice takes root as Tola confronts her father in his bedroom where after a tearful exchange he begs forgiveness and a fragile reconciliation begins. Tola starts to change, surprising the household by cooking and engaging domestically, while her father endorses a romance between her and Chike, calling Chike the stuff soulmates are made of. The narrative builds toward their wedding where Chike tells Tola she is special, the only person he has ever cooked for, and her father blesses the union. Preparations proceed but the church service is violently interrupted when a man in black storms the altar denouncing Chike as a liar accompanied by a woman holding a girl who claims the child is Chike's.
