Storyline
Goldie runs an adult intimacy product business from her Lagos apartment, demonstrating strap-ons and vibrators with candid humor. Bobby the window cleaner interrupts her morning, and a delivery agent presses her about a client order. Timilehin arrives at the door, first mistaken for a salesperson but then welcomed inside. Across the compound a woman in a shawl lets a stranded visitor charge a dead phone, and they argue about the visitor's plan to stay with a pastor's family in Ibadan. Goldie shouts at a plumber over a botched repair and her friend on the couch helps find the shut-off valve. In Long Time No See, Millicent and her cousin Adenike clash over a property transfer document that needs Millicent's signature as next of kin, and the fight turns into a raw confrontation about their past. Adenike says she was accepted to fashion school in 1988 but became pregnant at nineteen, her boyfriend abandoned her, and their grandfather Professor Lawal denied her tuition, so she fled and left Millicent behind. Millicent accuses Adenike of living without consequences, citing an affair with a married man and inappropriate flirtations, but Adenike counters that Millicent weaponizes victimhood. Adenike storms out and sits on a bench where a stranger tells a parable about his half-brother who was killed by police after they reconciled, and urges Adenike to climb the wall between them. At the same time Millicent searches for her daughter Timilehin during a night of gunfire and finds her hiding in the compound. Millicent and Timilehin shelter in a darkened bedroom as shots ring out nearby. To calm Timilehin's panic attack, Millicent reads Isaiah 41:10 aloud, and afterward she confesses that she and God do not really like each other. Millicent reveals her own abandonment: after her mother's funeral she tried to return home, but her grandfather rejected her and blamed her for her mother's death and insisted she stay away.
