Tara, a successful businesswoman, cannot sleep, clutching a folder of old photographs and letters while her younger sister Lily, days away from turning eighteen, tries to comfort her from the doorway. Across the city, Michael, a businessman returning after eighteen years abroad, stares at the same woman’s face in his own keepsakes, haunted by the love Tara’s mother tore apart. When Michael and Tara finally confront each other, they discover they were both betrayed by the same woman. In Lifetime Of Lies, the weight of that eighteen-year deception falls hardest on Lily, who grows suspicious and interrogates the family security guard, Pa Joe, before finding a hidden photograph and a handwritten note from Michael to her sister. On the night of her eighteenth birthday dinner, Lily confronts the family with the evidence and demands to know who her real father is, and Tara breaks down, admitting Michael is Lily’s biological father and that their mother forced her to raise her own daughter as a sister. Michael is shattered by the eighteen lost years; Lily, furious and heartbroken, retreats to the balcony, where Michael follows and tells her he never knew, would have stayed, and finally receives her embrace as she calls him dad.
