Don Pedro, a wealthy older businessman, dotes on his young fiancée Lillian, who secretly feels trapped and unhappy. After receiving a large cash payment from a partner, Don prepares for a two-week overseas trip and orders his trusted personal assistant, Evans, to move into his house and keep Lillian company. Don forces Lillian to choose between him and Evans, and she declares that she loves Evans. As Don moves to have them killed, a team of law enforcement agents storms in and subdues Don's men. During the chaos, Lillian is injured and rushed to the hospital, where she recovers after a close call. Evans stays by her side. Once she is discharged, he pushes her out of the hospital in a wheelchair, and they share a loving moment. Evans tells her he loves her, and the two drive away together, free from Don Pedro.
