Altar Call

This is the full story with spoilers from the movie Altar Call. Demi drives a luxury BMW and sees his old friend Nnamdi selling puff-puff. Nnamdi lost all his money in Cameroon and is struggling. Demi feels pity. It is his birthday so he buys food for everyone and gives Nnamdi large cash. He invites him to the Christian house fellowship. At the fellowship they sing praises. Pastor Nath preaches about vanity. He says despite cars jobs and homes many feel empty inside. He makes an altar call. Demi steps forward and prays "Anything that will not glorify Your name that is in me remove it". Next morning Demi wakes up but then in a dream his life falls apart. His car breaks down on way to big meeting. He calls mechanic and colleague to stall investors for 250 million Naira deal. Then Nnamdi pulls up in luxury car and explains the prayer caused it. He tells a parable about God stripping a man to rebuild him. Disasters hit. Demi arrives late dirty and sweaty. Investors pull out and he gets fired. Bank calls to say properties will be taken. Robbers invade his house but pity him. They give him chilled drink and 1000 Naira. They say they are Christians who pay tithes. Demi goes to girlfriend Tolu. She is disgusted by his look and breaks up with him. She says she waited three years for a ring. Demi cries life is over. Then he wakes up. It was a divine vision. He understands the warning. He prays committing his life to God. The car starts fine. He goes back to Nnamdi and gives him a new smartphone. He promises to pick him up and change his life for better. The movie ends with a quote from Jeremiah 29:11 about God's good plans not disaster.
