EARLY LIFE

Eriata Ese Blessing was born on 26 March 1993 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. She is of Esan ethnic origin and is the last of four children (two boys and two girls) in her family. She grew up in Benin City. She attended International Home School for nursery, Golden Touch for primary education, and Springfield (among other secondary schools). She later graduated from the College of Education in Benin, where she studied Economics Education. As a child, she described herself as somewhat of a bully who preferred older friends because she felt she could learn more from them. Her interests included dancing, singing (karaoke), acting, swimming, music, football, basketball, and table tennis. She also developed an early love for makeup and fashion.

CAREER

Ese began building her entertainment career after participating in reality television. In 2014, she appeared on Gulder Ultimate Search (Season 11). She later opened a makeup studio in Benin City before relocating to Lagos in December 2015 to pursue entertainment full-time. She started attending auditions and creating Instagram skits, which helped open doors. In 2017, she entered the Big Brother Naija (Season 2 / See Gobbe) house as a “fake housemate” (a twist introduced mid-season). She was not a regular contestant and left the house after a period. The appearance significantly boosted her public profile. She has worked as a commercial model, appearing in billboards and TV commercials, and released a single titled “Super Love” in 2017. She won the “Face of Candy City” title in 2016. Comedy became a professional focus around March 2016 after encouragement from friends and an opportunity with Nedu of Wazobia FM. PERSONAL LIFE

Ese has spoken openly about prioritizing mental readiness, self-worth, and intentional life choices regarding relationships, marriage, and motherhood. She has addressed societal pressures and shaming of women over marital status and decisions about having children, emphasizing that people should not judge others without knowing their personal circumstances, trauma, or readiness. She welcomed a son around late 2023 (celebrating his second birthday in late 2025). She has described him as her “daily dose of happiness and laughter” and “good luck charm,” stating he was “born to lead and be great.” She has publicly clarified that her plan for 2023 included becoming a mother (with or without a husband) and that she is intentional about her life decisions. In 2025, she shared a loved-up video montage with a partner, showing affectionate moments, though she generally keeps her romantic life relatively private. She has described herself as a “lover girl” and expressed appreciation for healthy relationships and family values, noting she grew up in a loving home. She has pushed back against online criticism and rumors while focusing on her personal happiness.
