Biography
EARLY LIFE
Diamond Okechi was born on August 15, 1986, in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. He hails from a traditional Igbo family. His father, Chief Emmanuel Okechi, was a respected community leader and businessman, while his mother, Mrs. Christiana Okechi, was a teacher and philanthropist. Diamond is the third of five siblings: Chinelo Okechi, Ikenna Okechi, Ngozi Okechi, and Chukwuma Okechi. Diamond attended Central School, Ogbaru, for his primary education before proceeding to Ogbaru High School. His passion for the arts led him to pursue a degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, graduating in 2007.
CAREER
Diamond Okechi began his career in the entertainment industry in 2007, making his debut in the film “Enemy in the House”. He is a Nigerian actor and producer known for his work in Nollywood cinema. He has appeared in over 100 Nollywood films, including “Money Helps” (2016), “False Intention” (2020), and “Ebubedike” (2021). He also produced the film “Agaba Idu”.
