Wrong People

Lucky and Paul experience car trouble on a quiet street and Oma and Augusta who work at Dr. Blossom's Estates assist them. In Wrong People Lucky takes Oma's number and introduces himself and Paul. A week later the group gathers at a house where Lucky cooks while Oma mentions visiting her sick mother and playful banter hints at romantic friction. Oma loses her job and Paul secures her a position at his company and offers her the guest room. Over three months Oma becomes pregnant. Lucky proposes to Oma but she reveals the pregnancy and Lucky suspects Paul. He confronts Paul and Paul pledges to care for Oma so Lucky relinquishes his house to Paul and moves out. Simultaneously Lucky pursues Augusta and proposes to her. Augusta's mother visits and discovers Lucky is unemployed and cancels the engagement. Lucky is fired for misusing company letterhead and spirals into drinking. Oma urges him to recover. Augusta grows cold and secretive and Lucky asks Paul to monitor her. Lucky confronts Augusta about her late nights and she admits infidelity and he gives her twenty four hours to leave. Augusta calls Paul and Paul discloses that Oma has accused him of rape and pregnancy. The MD confronts Lucky and reveals he loved Oma and that Lucky betrayed him by taking her and fathering her child. The MD reclaims the house and car as company property and Lucky is left destitute. Augusta departs with her mother and her mother curses Lucky and Augusta soon connects with a new suitor. Paul is also sacked and the film closes with reflective credits on betrayal and hard won wisdom leaving Lucky alone to face the consequences of his actions.
