Storyline
A woman’s quiet grief at a grave, with a child playing nearby, lingers before the scene shifts to Lagos where Ifeanyi’s rise to CEO of Roin Oil and Gas fills his mother with joy, prompting an invitation to leave the village and join his family. With Eze's wife’s surprise pregnancy and a deal for imported goods from China, the household’s future appears radiant, and Mama arrives amid songs of praise, her reunions tender. Yet as she settles in, an unexplainable heaviness descends, and his wife retreats into fervent prayer. Business falters abruptly: the managing director resigns, a major client defects, and the oil project land proves barren, all while Ivy’s pregnancy takes a perilous turn demanding emergency intervention. At a church service, a prophet warns of a malevolent force brought by familiarity, and the family, in desperation, fixates on Mama as the source. Exiling her to a squalid, crumbling home, they sever ties, convinced her presence curses them, even as Ifeanyi faces boardroom pressure and personal anguish. The prophet returns, stunned by their action, and rebukes them for lacking faith, declaring that Mama’s virtue provoked jealousy, not a curse. Ifeanyi crumbles into tears as the weight of his mistake lands. Rushing to the rundown house, he and Ivy find her frail and broken, whispering forgiveness through sobs for her children who branded her a witch. A flashback bathes a beach in golden light, a young girl’s birthday celebrated with joy, and a family gathering overflowing with laughter, before the screen fades and a verse from 2 Peter underscores the quiet power of faith and reunion.
