Storyline
In the movie Take Two, actor Sunny and his wife Mercy tell their kids Ese and Efe they are divorcing. The children surprisingly celebrate because they hate the constant screaming at home. The trouble starts because neither wants to leave the house. Sunny claims he pays the rent while Mercy says she won't be forced out. They choose to live as roommates during the divorce. This leads to daily fights over parenting and household chores. Mercy shouts at Sunny for sleeping late, and he calls her wicked. Their arguments always affect the children badly. Ese struggles a lot as her prom approaches. No one asks her to be their date and she feels rejected and lonely after a boy turns her down. She starts skipping meals and crying. Sunny feels bad about missing time with his kids due to work. He offers to stop acting to be a better dad, but Ese refuses. Mercy buys her a nice dress and pushes her to attend the prom with confidence. The story changes when Nimi, Efe's friend, comes with flowers and a poster to ask Ese to prom. She accepts happily. The family shares a joyful moment taking photos. That night, Sunny and Mercy have a good talk in the car. Sunny apologizes for damaging their family with his career. Mercy tells him not to quit acting because he is talented. Even though they improve at co-parenting, their marriage cannot be saved. In the end, sitting with their lawyer, Mercy declares she is moving forward. They proceed with the divorce.
